PROJECT SUMMARY

Wryde Croft Wind Farm is an operational 13 turbine project situated north east of Thorney, between Crowland and Parson Drove and north of the A47.

It is a combination of two previously consented projects: RES' six turbine scheme called Wryde Croft and Blue Energy's seven turbine Nutsgrove scheme, formerly owned by RidgeWind. Both projects were approved in April 2010 and were constructed as a single 13 turbine scheme by RES.

By combining the two schemes, RES significantly reduced impacts on local communities and the environment. For example, the on-site track and infrastructure layout was optimised to significantly reduce the amount of aggregates and other materials required, resulting in fewer traffic movements on nearby roads and less extraction of natural quarry resources.
