SEPTEMBER 2014: CONSTRUCTION TO START ON SITE
Work to construct Wryde Croft Wind Farm is about to begin. Construction Project Manager John Boyce advises: "We expect to begin work on site in September and turbine deliveries and erection will take place in Summer 2015."
Allowing for commissioning and testing, Wryde Croft Wind Farm will be complete in approximately 15 months, triggering a community benefits package of £130,000 per year, index linked. The benefits will be delivered in the form of RES' innovative Local Electricity Discount Scheme (LEDS), which offers properties closest to the site at least £100 per year off their electricity bills, and a Community Benefit Fund of £52,000 per year to support local social, educational and environmental projects.
RES has sent a newsletter with details about the construction process and the community benefits offered by Wryde Croft Wind Farm to more than 3,300 properties. You can view a copy of the newsletter via our Useful Links page.
